The planning application to Buckinghamshire Council marks a major shift into digital infrastructure for the film studio giant, following the Government’s 2024 move to designate data centres as Critical National Infrastructure.
The proposed development lies within the Slough Availability Zone – a strategic hub for UK data capacity.
Pinewood Group CEO David Conway said: “The significant investment will bring jobs and additional benefits to the local community with the delivery of a nature reserve, community gardens and learning space.”
The scheme is subject to outline planning approval by the end of 2025. A reserved matters application will follow once consent is granted.
